Annual Revolutionary War Field Days
November 5, 2016 - November 6, 2016
Historic Camden’s annual signature event, held the first weekend in November, is Revolutionary War Field Days.
Reenactors from more than 20 states gather on Friday to set up both British and Continental camps for one of the oldest Revolutionary War reenactments in the United States.
On Saturday and Sunday, Rev. War Field Days is open to the public by tickets available in advance online, (coming soon), or at the event. Visitors are immersed in the past through interaction with hundreds of living-history docents and encounter the sights, smells, and even tastes of 18th century colonial life. Reproduction clothing, goods, and foods, available on Suttler’s Row, colonial dance demonstrations, military court, campfire cooking competition, colonial games, period fashion show, in-camp demonstrations, craftsmen, and activities for kids enhance the visitor experience in this unique translocation to the past.
An militarily and historically accurate 18th century battle, with modern color commentary, starts at 1:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday, where spectators can feel the thunder of field cannons, hear the crack of flintlock rifles, and smell the gunpowder in an unparalleled sensory treat.
